Confetti Eggs at Mercado de La Merced

We have been back in San Francisco for over a week now, so I figure it’s about time that I post the rest of my photos!! I went to as many markets as I could find while we were in Mexico City and saw enough stalls full of cheap shoes to satisfy me for the rest of my life. But they were beautiful and made me wish we had more large public markets here.

Leslie Daum:

So colorful and fresh. Did you buy anything at the market?

Jamie:

I bought a few blue enamel spoons, a blue enamel pot with a lid, some kitchen towels, and a couple mamey fruits. The mamey was not very good, but if we had had a kitchen, we definitely would have bought fresh vegetables for dinner.

Once again, great photos. I also checked out your India posts as I’m heading there in Junuary for the 2nd time–this time going south. I hope you have lots more happy and safe travel adventures. JPJ

Jamie:

Thanks Jim!!!

meg:

where is this market located on the map because I am going there on Holladay and it looks like a cool place to go.

Jamie:

Hi Meg, while there, I visited at least a dozen markets spread throughout the city. So really, you can’t go wrong with any of them!
